Baku and Tbilisi discussed issue of investment in the reconstruction of Georgia's highways

Baku and Tbilisi discussed issues of investments in the reconstruction of Georgia's highways in the territory of Georgia, said the head of the Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze.


"Along with the launch this year of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, we discussed the issues of roads (reconstructions - IF-Az), infrastructure and investment in them. It is a very important project for us, "- said M.Dzhanelidze in Baku on Monday at a briefing with his Azerbaijan counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov.


According to him, Georgia intends closely cooperate with Azerbaijan in the framework of regional and international projects to improve its economic and transport capabilities.


He added that Baku and Tbilisi are paying special attention to cooperation in the sphere of energy and transport. "We discussed the implementation of the pipeline "Southern Gas Corridor". We continue works in this direction and we intend to increase the capacity of transit" - said M.Dzhanelidze.


Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, Nodar Javakhishvili, in September, 2016 announced its intention to build and upgrade high-speed motorway at east-west directions from the borders of Azerbaijan to the Georgian Black Sea ports, as well as on the north-south direction, i.e., over the arteries, that binders Russia, India, Iran, Iraq and Pakistan. This is because the more relevant became the movement of goods from China to the West, and vice versa.


The works will be implemented in the frameworks of the spatial arrangement in the years 2016-2020.


Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili stressed the importance of the creation of new transportation routes to Georgia was able to "realize their full potential and became a transport and logistics hubs, connecting Europe and Asia".


According to prime-minister, in this context, a great role is played by road infrastructure across the country according to modern European standards.


For this purpose, the period up to 2020 inclusive, in Georgia it is planned a construction and reconstruction of about 1 thousand Km of highways, the presumable value of $ 3.5 billion. Including envisages the construction of 550 km of highways, 300 bridges and 50 road tunnels.


The Prime Minister said that the spatial arrangement of the project also envisages the construction and modernization of railway stations,  sea ports and airports. Along with the improvement of road infrastructure, the project includes the development of integrated transport, construction, energy, manufacturing, tourism, mountainous regions, resorts of Georgia and other fields on the basis of rational and balanced planning.


"Dnepravia" suspends flights from Kharkiv to Tbilisi and Batumi

Airline "Dniproavia" from September, 1 decided to suspend flights from Kharkiv to Tbilisi, Batumi, Baku and Yerevan. It was reported by the Commercial Director of "Dniproavia" Sergey Posylaev.

The company explains the decision for economic reasons, caused by the need for over flight of Russian territory.

"After Russia banned Ukrainian airlines to fly over its territory, our routes are significantly lengthened. For example, flight Kharkov - Baku became almost twice long: it was lasted for 2.30 hours, and now – four. In proportion was increased cost of fuel, the crew and the other ", - explained Posylaev.

The company also continues to fly from Kharkov to Kiev, and on the winter schedule is planned flight to Ivano-Frankivsk.

Planned to organize Georgian-Azerbaijan AGROFORUM

Such form of communication will give us the opportunity to learn from each other" - said the Georgian minister.

At the meeting Daneliya spoke about the new challenges that are associated with the signing of Georgia association agreement with the EU. He stressed, that in this regard Georgia introduced new approaches and standards.


Batumi hosted international forum "The Congress of the European Economic Senate".

At the initiative of the European Economic Senate, in Batumi hotel "Sheraton" was held an international forum "The Congress of the European Economic Senate."

European Economic Senate (EES) is the coordinating center, the organization of European business, whose members include the heads of large companies and the policies of the European Union. The President of the EES is the Vice President of European Parliament Ingo Friedrich.

At the congress was emphasized the intensification and simplification of the Georgian-European trade relations, attracting European investment to Georgia, the introduction in Georgia European business standards and ways to promote the interests of the Georgian business in Europe. During the event, were presentations of several projects that are of interest of European investors.

Organizer of the congress is "The Business Club of Georgia", which was founded in 2014 and already includes several large business companies. Co-organizers of the event are the Chamber of Commerce of Georgia and the National Investment Agency.

Georgian companies took part the international exhibition of wine in China

With the assistance of the National Agency of Georgia wine, 16 wine companies took part in the international exhibition of 2014 BEIJING (YANQING) INTERNATIONAL WINE EXPOSITION, held in China.

Georgian FlyVista will launch flights between Tbilisi and Kiev from August, 28

S7 and "Ural Airlines" have applied to operate regular flights to Tbilisi

S7 Airlines and "Ural Airlines" asked the Russian aviation authorities permission to perform regular flights to Georgia, follows from the information on the website of the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviaciya).

There is no regular air traffic between Russia and Georgia now; countries are bounded by charter flights that operate "Ural Airlines" and S7.

As was previously reported, the application for regular flights to Tbilisi also was inquired by UTair and "Aeroflot". In Rosaviation was explained that last week for these companies was issued the permission, but to start flights they will be able only after receiving the response notes from the Georgian Foreign Ministry on the resumption of regular flights between the countries.

Earlier it was reported that regular communication between Georgia and Russia may be resumed. In April 2014 spokesman of TAV Georgia (runs Tbilisi international airport) Katie Okruashvili reported that negotiations between the parties about the resumption of flights had successful results.

Kazakh company will carry out $ 16 million projects in Zugdidi

In western Georgia is planned four projects on Kazakh investments. Concrete plant, cannery, medical rehabilitation center and a 4-star hotel - these projects will realize "SI Georgia'' company established by Kazakh investor.

At the request of the CEO, the company, which was based around three months ago, will take place in Zugdidi up to $ 16 million investments. According to Dmitry Kurtanidze, the first project of company - the construction of a concrete plant will begin in about a month and a half, and will be spend $ 2 million.

In Cannery will be invested 3.5-4 million dollars investment and project will start from next year. At the end of 2015 will begin construction of a medical rehabilitation center, which provides up to $ 5 million investment.
