Georgian president celebrated his 45 year anniversary

On, December 21, Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili celebrated his 45th birthday.


His political activity head of state began in 1995, but before that in 1992, he graduated with honors - the International Law Department of the Kiev Institute of International Relations. Later, as a Fellow of the U.S. Congress was sent to study at Columbia University where he received a Master of Law.


Besides this he completed a Ph.D. at George Washington University, studied at the Strasbourg Institute of Human Rights, at the Academy of European Law in Florence and at the Hague Academy of International Law.


Saakashvili's political career began in 1995, after he returned to Georgia at the invitation of his friend Zurab Zhvania. Later, he was elected to parliament from the party "Union of Citizens of Georgia", supported at that time the President Eduard Shevardnadze.


From January 2000 - Saakashvili was the representative of Georgia to the PACE. In October, became the Minister of Justice of Georgia.


After the events of November 2003, and the overthrow of the regime, Saakashvili in elections on January 4, 2004 was elected as a President of Georgia. That time Saakashvili got 96.27% of voters.


As a result of presidential elections on January 1, 2008, Saakashvili became president.
