From September 1, 2014 visa to Georgia will cost $ 50.

Director of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Giorgi Tabatadze said that before the implementation of the amendments to the law "On the legal status of foreigners and persons without citizenship" on different types of visa acted different prices. However, after the amendments to the law will be involved, there will be no separation of the countries or by type of visa.

"Until now, there were different prices and now all the same, and for all types of visa will be required to pay $ 50" - said Tabatadze.

For existing before visa fees, according to information posted on the web page of the Georgian Foreign Ministry, the price of visas were the following: one-time or ordinary multi entry visa up to 90 days-$ 50.

Development Agency of the Ministry of Justice of the state services from September, 1 will not issue visas of Georgia. Visas will be issued by diplomatic missions and consular offices of Georgia abroad. Under the amendments, to get a visa at the state border of Georgia will be possible only in special cases.

From September 1, comes into force a new law "On Legal Status of Foreigners and persons without citizenship", prepared by the Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia on behalf of the government commission on migration.

According to the law, stay term in Georgia without a visa was decreased and instead of 360 days was determined for 90 days in a 180 day period. Also is canceled a visa free travel regime with a number of countries, but visa-free message will remain with the European Union, NATO, the Schengen area, the CIS and other key partner countries.
