Georgia was affected by technical failures in its handling of American passports and visas, and therefore the process of issuing of these documents may be delayed indefinitely, as it was noted at the American Embassy in Georgia on Thursday, July 31st.


Bureau of Consular Affairs of the State Department earlier reported of a technical failure in the processing of passports and visas. And it was emphasized that this problem affects systems for processing documents in the world, and does not apply to any specific type of citizenship papers or certain types of visas.

Georgia's transportation system will be brought in accordance with international standards

S7 and "Ural Airlines" have applied to operate regular flights to Tbilisi

S7 Airlines and "Ural Airlines" asked the Russian aviation authorities permission to perform regular flights to Georgia, follows from the information on the website of the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviaciya).

There is no regular air traffic between Russia and Georgia now; countries are bounded by charter flights that operate "Ural Airlines" and S7.

As was previously reported, the application for regular flights to Tbilisi also was inquired by UTair and "Aeroflot". In Rosaviation was explained that last week for these companies was issued the permission, but to start flights they will be able only after receiving the response notes from the Georgian Foreign Ministry on the resumption of regular flights between the countries.

Festival "Artgen 2014" all week - in Tbilisi

In Tbilisi Ethnographic Museum this week is held the final stage of one of the most exciting cultural projects in Georgia - the annual festival of folk arts "Artgen 2014."
