Georgian scientists have created a drug against spasmodic cough Featured

Georgian scientists have created a drug against spasmodic cough

Georgian scientists have studied the Caucasian endemic plant of Ivy, and created the drug against the spasmodic cough.

The results of the study were learnt by the general director of the National Science Foundation of Shota Rustaveli Ministry of Education and Science Sulkhan Sisauri and rector of the Tbilisi State Medical University - Zurab Vadachkoria.

Created by the scientists new drug is intended for all age groups. Especially for children the drug is manufactured in the form of syrup, and for adults in pill form. Made of Caucasian Ivy drug is used during the spasmodic, asthmatic cough and bronchitis.

Research project was carried out by finance of the Ministry of Education and Science under the grant competition of the National Science Foundation of Shota Rustaveli. The study was funded by 150, 000 GEL during three years.

Scientists are currently studying the properties of the second kind of endemic plants – Colchis oak.
