Construction of Gori-Kareli section will be completed in October

Construction of the 20-kilometer section of 700 mm pipeline of Gori-Kareli (Western Georgia) will be completed in October this year. To date, construction works are completed by 43%, reported in the Oil and Gas Corporation of Georgia (GOGC).


Construction of the 20-kilometer site of Gori-Kareli is carried out within the fourth phase of the project construction-rehabilitation of the main gas pipeline "East-West".
The project is supported by the Agency for International Development (USAID). The contract worth is about $ 3.9 million.
Construction work carries the won international tender for the Turkish company AHM ENERGY GAS HEATING SYSTEMS CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY. TIC. LTD. STI.
In frames of the fourth phase of the rehabilitation project GOGC announced international tenders in July 2013.
In frames of the fourth phase of the rehabilitation of the main gas pipeline "East-West" is under construction and a 23-kilometer section of 700 mm pipeline Zestafoni-Kutaisi that builds the Georgian company "Sakmilsadenmsheni". The cost of the project contract Zestafoni-Kutaisi is about $ 4.5 million. Completion of construction works is planned for October 2014.
Construction of the 76 km pipeline Kutaisi-Senaki is planned under the energy and gas infrastructure (PGI) of the Agency for International Development.
USAID implements these programs in Georgia since 2010. The aim of the program on which implementation is allocated $ 78 million, is to help the Government of Georgia to implement strategic changes in the energy and gas infrastructure, to enhance the energy security of the country.
Oil and Gas Corporation of Georgia is working with USAID under the 30-month program of gas and energy infrastructure. Within the first three phases already is constructed 30-kilometer pipeline from Senaki to Poti, a 29-kilometer site of Abasha-Senaki and 47 km section of Kutaisi-Abasha.
As part of the development of energy infrastructure in the country in Western Georgia is planned to build an alternative gas pipeline. The project will carry out the Department of Energy and Natural Resources and Oil and Gas Corporation of Georgia with the assistance of the Agency for International Development (USAID).
