 SOCAR will increase the transit of gas to Turkey through Georgia

At the World Economic Forum in Davos Azerbaijanian oil company SOCAR held a reception.  The main themes of the evening were carried out and planned by the company projects in Georgia.

Among the projects that SOCAR is going to implement in Georgia, the increase in gas transit via the Shah Deniz field through Georgia to Turkey.

According to the Georgian Minister of Energy Alexander Khetaguri, the project will have a positive impact on the economy of Georgia. "Georgia will get financial benefit from the increase of transit", - he said.

Khetaguri noted that the increase of transit will occur in the first phase of the project "Nabucco".

The reception was attended by a delegation of Georgia headed by the Prime Minister Nika Gilauri. Gilauri made a short speech at the party.
